Illinois Bass Anglers

Mill Creek

April 22, 2007

Unstable weather leads to low numbers of keeper bass brought to the scales at the Illinois Bass Anglers season opener on Mill Creek.  Two weeks of rain and cold temperatures gave the big fish a case of lock jaw.  Only three bass over the 15 inch limit were brought to the scales.  Big Bass and First place honors went to the Bob and Jim Blumenstein who enticed a 5.88lb Big Mama to eat a 5 inch Purple Sinko rigged Whacky Style.   The Blumenstein Boys are sponsored by Chili’s Grill and Bar in Bolingbrook and Reliable Color.  Second place was grabbed by the newly formed Team of Bob Bobich and Dan Borkowski.  The team was throwing a 3/4ounce Black and Blue Tru-Tungsten jigs to outside weed edges.  Bites were few and far between, but one was a 4.54 keeper.  Bob and Dan are sponsored by Setyr Rods and McCoy Mean Green Line.  Third place went to Kevin Seme and Kurt Schumacker.  Kurts secrete “Cow Toad” bait accounted for the teams only keeper of 2.63 lbs.  Kevin and Kurt are sponsored by Cheer Litters Bar and Grill in West Chicago and Johnson Boat and Motor in Morris.
